EFX mod or X10?

Which wan do you all prefer? EFX mod or X10 creator and why?

If you're just making a game for yourself and a few friends, then the mod is fine. If you're going for a commercial release then I would only use the product supported by the company and not someone from the boards.

However it sounds like your bigger question is X9 or X10. That's very different.

I guess X10 for the same reasons as uthink, and because I like having the official thing, mods can be unreliable, though EFX mod is pretty close. I want motion blur!

yeah, its a shame the EFX mode isn' t commercial yet, do you guys now or you can bring out free games?

X10. I love the detail of it and the way it handles the new DarkPHYSICS, DarkLIGHTS and DarkAI lol.

ofcourse we can use x10 for making a commercial game, but we need updates, if we had a few more visual updates and if the most bugs are gone, x10 is a very good product then

I prefer X10 obviously, but EFX Mod does have some awesome features like...Motion Blur...Underwater intensity etc.
And I must say that the water in EFX Mod looks better than x10s to me. And that's shadermodel 2.0 water...

Looks like EFX to me...In that picture at least X10 water looks a bit better (but not by much IMO), but EFX has better options. There's a slider that lets you adjust how much water distortion there is when underwater, having the screen bend and whatnot

Strelok came up with some new shaders for the X10 water. I think he gave them away. I know I have a copy. I'll ask him if he's still giving it away.

I talked to Strelok, he was selling it, but pulled it because he doesn't have his website any longer. Maybe he'll put it back in the TGC store if they open it up to X10. It's not a big difference in the water, but I think his textures are just a bit more real.

Don't know why you'd consider X9 if you can get that out of X10.

With X10 theres more room for improvement if you just take the time to learn how to make it work im working on terrains and there doing good except they walk on a flat plain but now they collide with the ground and not just walk through it.

Make the same video with X9 and a mod and I'll be impressed if your map is stable and performs well.

The terrain is worse on X9 because it collides with the efx water and bumps upwards unless in static mode while X10 it doesnt make a diffrence.
